History and Short Description The children here are classified as slow learners and also have problems with motor skills. The children live in apartments in family groups of 6-10. Brothers and sisters are kept together and these family groups are of mixed ages. Each family has four vospitateli who work in 12 hour shifts of two people. From the first to fourth grade, children go to school inside the orphanage. In fifth and sixth grade they go to school No. 167 which is located not far from the orphanage. Pre-school children are taught by teacher's aides in the orphanage itself. The children of Orphanage No. 26 are social orphans. These are, for the most part, children of alcoholic parents who have been deprived of their parental rights.
